The Carter Center
The Carter Center in Atlanta, Georgia, is a nonprofit, nonpartisan public policy institute founded by former U.S. President Jimmy Carter and his wife, Rosalynn, in 1982. The Center is dedicated to fighting disease, hunger, poverty, conflict, and oppression through collaborative initiatives in the areas of democratization and development, global health, and urban revitalization. At present, the Center operates 13 core programs, which have touched the lives of people in 65 countries, including the United States. The Center is a separately chartered and independently governed member of the Emory University community. Carter Center programs are directed by resident experts, many of whom hold academic appointments at Emory University.Visit Site
