Abstract:
This paper explores the challenges that feminist theory, stratification economics, and intersectionality pose to the characterization of capitalism as a unitary system. Attention to the structural basis for inequalities based on gender and race weakens traditional Marxian concepts of exploitation based on the appropriation of surplus value. On the other hand, the continuing relevance of many forms of collective conflict heightens appreciation of the ways in which capitalist institutions discourage the forms of cooperation necessary to address both ecological threats and shortfalls in care provision.

As the failure of long-standing institutions and structures leaves nations and multilateral systems running out of options, a new foreign policy model – one that focuses on local and indigenous knowledge; engages civil society; has a commitment to peace, to empathy over sovereignty; and is serious about justice, and inclusion – may be starting to look viable, even for those reluctant to give up their entrenched systemic and institutional power and the associated privileges.

Abstract:
Bu çalışmada feminizmin ve çokkültürlülük ilişkisi üzerine bir inceleme yapılması amaçlanmaktadır. Bu paralelde 1980’li yıllardan beri ortaya konmuş olan ikinci dalga feminizmin parametreleri ve 1990’lar itibari ile toplumsal cinsiyet kavramsallaştırması ve kimlik politikaları paralelinde ele alınan üçüncü dalga feminizmin parametreleri değerlendirilecektir. Bu temel unsurlar üzerinden çokkültürlülük kuramı içerisindeki liberal ve eleştirel yaklaşımların ikinci ve üçüncü dalga feminizm ile kesiştiği problemli durumlar ataerkillik ve kadının özgürleşmesi bağlamında kültürel farklılıkların ortaya koyduğu ırk, cinsiyet ve sınıf temelindeki tartışmalar üzerinden değerlendirilecektir.
